Maybe you couldn’t tell, but we’re pretty into beer. From IPA’s to pale ales, or even a good cider, we love to geek out over a good brew. And as a traveling festival, we get to taste a lot of great beers with all different flares. But never before have we been able to say that we’ve tasted the original pilsner beer. Denver, hold on to your taps, because Pilsner Urquell will be joining us at Sports Authority Field. That's right, the original pilsner beer will be flying in its unfiltered and unpasteurized lager fresh from the brewery. Beer geeks, this one's for you.
Pilsner Urquell was named after the city it was first brewed in; Plzen, Czech Republic. It is made from just four ingredients: Moravian barley, Saaz hops, soft Plzen water and Pilsner H strain yeast. Simple as that. And while it may be one of the youngest beer styles in the world, it has become the most popular, with 70% of beers produced today inspired by the original!
Don’t miss out on tasting a little piece of beer history when the Classic rolls into Denver on May 12th. Try it for yourself and see why we like to call it "liquid gold". It was the world’s first golden lager, after all. We’ll cheers to that!
