Peter Kane Peter Kane is SF Weekly's Arts Editor, where he manages the food and culture sections. Having lived in San Francisco since 2008, he's two-thirds the way toward his goal of visiting every national park. Charlie Ayers Best known as “the chef who fed Google,” Charlie led a team of five chefs and 150 employees serving 4,000 lunches and dinners a day at the company's headquarters. After six years at Google, Charlie left to open Calafia Café & Market A Go Go in Palo Alto. A former personal chef to the Grateful Dead, Charlie continues to consult for startup companies, cater private events and coordinate catering teams at music festivals. He published a cookbook, Food 2.0: Secrets from the Chef that Fed Google, that exemplifies his culinary vision.

Not only is he a Certified BJCP beer judge and Certified KCBS BBQ judge, he is also the founder of Pete's Brewing Company and the creator of Pete's Wicked Ale. In addition to beer, he has an affinity for chocolate; he founded Cocoa Pete's Chocolate Adventures, an all-natural chocolate bonbon company, in 2002.

A graduate of the prestigious brewing program at Technical University of Munich, Dan interned at the famed Spaten Brewery and Anheuser Busch before founding Gordon Biersch Brewery. He frequently lectures at the Stanford University Graduate School of Business, UCLA, and the University of San Francisco. A talented chef, Dan is also the creator of the wildly popular Gordon Biersch Garlic Fries™.
